Send More Paramedics - Biography

Biography

SEND MORE PARAMEDICS are members of the living dead, cannibalistic zombies consumed with an unholy desire to devour living human BRAINS! Their music is best described as “ZOMBIECORE” – a hideous synthesis of 80s-style thrash metal and modern hardcore punk contaminated by a warped obsession with zombie b-movies.

Rising from the grave in Leeds at Halloween 2001, the band quickly captured the imagination of the UK hardcore scene with their explosive live show, featuring blood, severed heads, and most importantly BRAINS! Every gig swelled the army of the dead as more and more of the population fell victim to their infection.

The next few years saw a stream of undead manifestations including a two week European / UK tour with The Offspring, two UK tours with Avenged Sevenfold, UK tour dates with Wednesday 13, UK tour dates with Tiger Army, UK tour dates with Municipal Waste, UK tour dates with The Horrorpops, plus shows with The Misfits, Converge, Sick Of It All, Exodus, Seven Seconds, Give Up The Ghost, Himsa, Shai Hulud, Necromantix, Bring Me The Horizon, and several UK headline tours.

Festival and media appearances included Download Festival (2OO5), two live sessions on BBC Radio One’s “The Lock-Up” (Jan 2OO5 & Jan 2006 – now available digitally as “Undead at the BBC”), a live TV performance on BBC3’s Guerilla Gig Live with Zane Lowe, Reading and Leeds Festivals (2006), Damnation Festival (2006), Ghost Fest (2006), and Manifest (2006).

After crawling back into their graves at Halloween 2007, Send More Paramedics revived for a handful of shows around Leeds’ TDON Festival in spring 2014 and re-animated one final time playing four SOLD-OUT shows celebrating the band’s 20th Anniversary at Halloween 2021.
